Do we need to train it on our documents first?

Does it handle quantitative and qualitative characteristics?
Yes — numeric results are evaluated against lower/upper spec limits, and qualitative results are mapped to your coded valuation catalog.
Can it convert units of measure?
Yes. Values reported in supplier units are converted to your SAP characteristic's unit before valuation, so comparisons are always like-for-like.
Does it propose the usage decision?
It proposes a usage decision based on the valuation of all characteristics in the lot. Whether the UD posts automatically or waits for QA sign-off is your configuration — many regulated sites keep UD as a human step.
Does it require SAP customization or ABAP development?
